Massage Therapy

Meet your Therapist.

Cassandra has over nine years of experience in massage therapy, and has had the priviledge of being trained and mentored by some of the leading Swedish, Austrian, and Fiji experts.

Cassandra whole heartedly believes that massage therapy is beneficial for healing the body.  Best of all, it feels great while relaxing, refreshing and rejuvenating you!

The Truth About Massage.

Massage therapy uses a variety of methods to give a positive response on the human body, mind and spirit.  After all, rubbing aching muscles is natural and instinctive!  Massage is a natural approach to wellness that has existed and flourished since ancient times

Massage improves circulation, joint range of motion, and flexibility.  It reduces many common problems such as stress, muscle tightness, aches and pains, even anxiety and depression.

How does Massage Therapy Work?

Cassndra will use light oil or lotion on the skin and begin the massage. A full body massage usually entails working from one end of the body to the other. Be sure to let your Cassandra know if you are uncomfortable with the pressure, technique, oil, music, etc. Your feedback allows you to have the best experience possible. During your massage the top sheet will be removed from isolated areas that are being worked on while the rest of your body is kept discreetly covered and warm.

 Will massage therapy hurt?

Massage therapy should be comfortable and not hurt. Occasionally there is mild aching when the massage therapist applies pressure over “knots” and other areas of muscle tension. If the pressure is too strong for you, let Cassandra know.

How will I feel after a massage?

Most people feel calm and relaxed after a massage treatment. Occasionally, people experience mild temporary aching for a day or so. Drinking extra water the day before, the day of, and the day after your massage will prepare your bodies’ tissue to release toxins and recover quickly.

Why do people utilize massage therapy?

  • Back pain
  • Inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and tendonitis
  • Stress relief and stress- related conditions
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Muscle and related conditions such as spasms, strains, and sprains
  • Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Post-injury and post surgical rehabilitation

Massage therapy relieves stress. It helps the body’s stress response by lowering levels of stress hormones such as cortisol.  Massage therapy also appears to enhance the immune system.
